Data we collect

  • Project & site data: property access notes, measurements, photos you provide, drawings, specifications.
  • Transaction data: quotes, invoices, payments, VAT info.
  • Communications: emails, messages, call notes.
  • Technical data (website): IP address, device, browser, pages viewed, and cookies (see Cookies section).
  • Marketing preferences: opt-in/opt-out status.

How we use your data & legal bases

Contract

  • Provide quotes, designs, and surveys.
  • Supply, deliver, and install products/services.
  • Customer service and warranty support.
Lawful basis: performance of a contract or steps prior to entering one (UK GDPR Art.6(1)(b)).

Legitimate interests

  • Operate and protect our website and business.
  • Record-keeping, project photos for quality assurance, and training.
  • Reasonable marketing to existing customers.
Balanced against your rights and interests (Art.6(1)(f)).

Consent

  • Non-essential cookies/analytics/ads.
  • Email/SMS marketing to non-customers.
  • Using project photos that clearly identify your property in public marketing.
You can withdraw consent at any time.

Legal obligation

  • Tax/VAT reporting and accounting.
  • Health & safety and regulatory compliance.

Sharing your data

We share personal data only when necessary:

  • Service providers acting as processors (e.g., website hosting and IT support, email and file storage, payment processors, delivery partners, subcontractors such as qualified electricians). They must follow our instructions and keep data secure.
  • Professional services (accountants, insurers, legal advisers).
  • Marketing tools (subject to consent/opt-out): Google, Meta, and similar platforms.
  • Authorities where required by law or to defend legal claims.

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where this occurs, we rely on adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards (e.g., International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses).

Retention

  • Quotes and correspondence: 24 months from last contact if no contract is formed.
  • Project and invoice records: 7 years for tax and accounting.
  • Warranty records: for the warranty term plus 1 year.
  • Marketing preferences: until you opt out or data becomes inactive (we review annually).
  • Cookies: per table below or your browser settings.

Security

We use technical and organisational measures proportionate to risk, including access controls, encryption at rest and in transit where appropriate, least-privilege permissions, staff awareness, device security, and regular backups.

Project photos & marketing

If you pay by bank transfer or card, limited payment data may be processed by our bank or payment provider. We do not store full card details.

Changes to this notice

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in law or our operations. The latest version will always be published on this page and dated at the top.
